WOW- It's been a long time

The boys are going up so fast. I can't believe I have taken so much time to write. I feel horrible for not keeping up with my updates. Oh well, it is what it is.
Dax is now 6 and Brooks will turn 2 in another month. I can't believe how fast time goes.
We went to Disney in October. All of our photos that we made with Brian's camera were damaged. Very devastating. I only have a few. The rest are just random times. Summer, Halloween and Christmas time.

Here are photos from over the past few months

Play time

Dax went fishing and Brooks is swinging in the backyard. 3/10/12
Them riding in the Dune buggy was the first time Brooks rode with Dax. He was so happy. I tried to get him out and he cried. Dax was such a proud big brother. He wrapped his arm around him and drive him all over. It was the sweetest thing ever! 3/18/12

Brooks turns 1!!!

Brooks turned 1 yesterday. I can't believe it!! We are having his birthday party this weekend, so more photos to come on that special day. We turned his seat around in the car. Can you tell he is a happy camper?

My Little Walker and Baseball

I can't believe "Big Fat" decided to walk!!! And of course it was while I was out of town. He was staying with Mama Carol and Papa and he was walking between the two sofas. We got him home on March 6th and it walked from the breakfast table to the kitchen. I couldn't believe how far. He still prefers crawling. I'm ready for him to walk so we can go outside and he can toddle around.
He has been saying small words like Na Na for nanny, yum yum, done.
Dax has started baseball and he is playing first base. He said he's going to hit to the fence so he can get the game ball. His little team is young so it looks like they will probably lose most of their games. It's starting to fruststrate Dax. He keeps saying "we keep losing" I think it might be a little competitive.

What have we been up to lately...

Well, Brooks is very close to walking. He is holding on and moving very well. I stand out in front of him and he always dives into my arms instead of making walking attempts.

I think he calls me baaaa. He says dada but I think that means daddy, momma, and dax. He has been waving bye bye only sometime. He loves to eat cantelope, cheerios, and yogurt. He's favorite book/song is "old macdonald" he attacks his book (which has finger puppets).
I can't believe his 1st birthday is coming up. It doesn't seem like he's been with us that long. Such a sweet loving baby.

Dax has been working on reading more. I'm trying not to be too pushy.

He wrote down yesterday if he had $100 he would buy a bird. ... Interesting. He has been watching RIO.

The things he says always amazes me. The boy doesn't forget anything. I hope this mind of his stays forever. If I forget he always remembers! Ha!

Brian has been telling him bedtime stories about a boy named Dax and Heyaheya. He looks forward to them every night.

Dax says he is very adventurous. He says he's going to the air force academy when he gets big. We'll see!!!!

Christmas Time

Dax made a gingerbread house at Jessica's bday party. He wanted to hurry and finish to go play with Lallace.
So, I ask Dax what he would like for Mama Carol and Papa to buy him for Christmas and he tells me skiis. I tell him we don't live where we get that type of snow. We would have to get on an airplane and fly. He says "well, let's go then" So funny! He decided a hula hoop would be fun. HA!
Brooks is crawling all over the house. He gives me the sign language for "more" when he wants more to eat. I guess he's been doing that for about a week now. He just sits and laughs and moves his hands back and forth. I think he stays hungry. He ate yogurt, carrots, and grapes last night for dinner. He still woke up at 4 am screaming needing a snack and/or wanted mommy love. Which I happily give once I can pull myself out of bed. This teethy business is tough.

We had Dax's 4 year old Prek Christmas concert and they sang jingle bells, up on the roof top, and feliz da v dod. (how dax says it) He was very into the music. He told me he wanted to do the cake walk until he won a cake. Well, thank goodness he won the first try. I can't believe it. I never won at the cake walk when I was a child.

Thanksgiving Break

So, we went to the Tellus Museum. It was really great. Dax really loved panning for gems and digging for dinosaur fossils. Afterwards, we met the family at Wallace BBQ for linner and had cupcakes for Dax's bday.
Sunday we got up and went to Seaside. The weather was perfect. Dax and Brooks were good boys. Brooks seemed to have enjoyed the sand. Dax did too. Dax now has a new nickname "sandman". We saw him licking his fingers several times, and we would yell at him to stop. I obviously couldn't watch him the whole time at the beach but he consumed a lot. That night, he was up throwing up sand. He said he wouldn't eat sand again. GREAT. I had to get barfed on and changed the sheets on the bed several times. I did get a little concerned, but he finally settled down after 2 AM.
Brooks at some point got his third tooth and on Nov 22 he was able to get from laying down to a seated position. Then on Sunday he began taking 4 step crawls. He looked like an elephant. Any day now we should have a crawler on our hands. The word easy will now be erased from my brain for a while. I'm going to be chasing him like crazy. He really loves his walker too. He comes into the kitchen and tries to get into all the cabinets. He really likes the lazy susan. He gets very upset if I push him away. Nov 28, he started saying DADADADA. This makes Brian happy. When we woke up this morning, Nov 29, Brooks says "hey, dada". So sweet.

Dax told me today that he wished he could go back to he's old preK class. I asked why of course and he says" because we didn't take long naps, like we do in this class."
Thanksgiving was great. We went to mimi and pops and spent the night. The Kilby's came for linner this year. We had so much food and the company was great. We took our yearly family pictures. I hope to post a few soon.
